WINTER PRIVATE DINING AT BREAD AND FLOWERS HQ

Wiltshire’s private dining and private event venue….

It’s my birthday on the 10th November, which over the last nine years, I’ve failed miserably at celebrating, mostly due to choosing to cook or cater for other people, that’s my business I suppose.

So this year, after numerous recommendations from people who have enjoyed a private dining session here at Longford Farmhouse, I decided to hire Bread and Flowers to come along and cater a small gathering of about 24 friends in our Bread and Flowers dining room, just outside Salisbury.  Let’s hope they’re as good as their reputation reports!

I chose the 10th December, why not, see above paragraph, it’s a great time of year.  It’s in the lull before Christmas, a time when everyone is vying for dates for drinks parties and pre-Christmas get togethers.  A last hurrah before knuckling down to the serious business of extended family reunions over over-extended meals.  A time for joy, yes and a time for stress.

Ten years ago was my last little birthday bash, 60 close friends for drinks and bowl food, which we attempted to do ourselves as a family.  The guests had a wonderful time, I remember spending a lot of it opening bottles and circulating drinks, bowls of food and not spending much time chatting with anyone.  Big mistake, and not one I’m going to repeat this time round.

We’re having Picante de la Casa, Moscardini, oysters, octopus with chorizo and white beans, game pithiviers, carrot puree, carrots and crispy kale, all cooked by our seriously talented apprentice chef Jake, under the watchful eye of our head chef Mark.  I’m so looking forward to welcoming friends, relaxing, being looked after by Bread and Flowers staff and being banned from the kitchen.
