It’s another slow Sunday lunch on the 28th January 2018, a perfect time to abandon all thoughts of resolutions and reflect on the year ahead. We’re super excited to be welcoming Romy Gill as our next guest chef, kicking off the new year with some deeply aromatic offerings for everyone to savour. Her restaurant, Romy’s Kitchen, is over in Thornbury, just outside of Bristol, so if you don’t fancy a three-hour round trip, then you’re very welcome here at Bread and Flowers HQ, Longford Farmhouse to share the joy.
Romy is another, high energy individual, she features on the Food Programme, is currently writing her first cook book, is appearing on the Saturday show with James Martin, appears at her fair share of food festivals around the country and organises charity events raising money and awareness of the need for clean drinking water on the Indian subcontinent. She also works with Action Against Hunger, next year she will be back on Masterchef and last year was awarded an MBE, so on top of everything, she’s an all-round good egg.
We popped over to Thornbury a while ago to chat through Romy’s menu and taste some of her exquisite food. Having visited India many time myself over the years, these dishes really do have that great taste of authenticity, often a struggle to find in the UK.
